5. Themes

– A feud is a longstanding argument that can last years, the reason for the argument is often lost and forgotten about after time.
– Feud between houses//Capulets and Montagues
– The feud is important bc it fuels the whole plot and kicks off all the setting
– Tybalt calling Romeo (a Montague) his mortal enemy, Tybalt saying he hates ‘hell all Montagues’, Prince Escaules saying ‘thrice you have disturbed our streets’
– Catholics – Protestants,

– I think that it’s not really a person’s explicit fault that Romeo and Juliet died. It’s a large culmination of Romeo’s impulsiveness, Friar John’s failure, Friar Lawrence’s miscommunication and many other things. However I think that the most of the blame falls upon the two families. For if they had not had a feud Romeo would have courted Juliet in public they would never had had to hide their relationship which means that Juliet wouldn’t have had to fake her death to get out of marrying another because that would have been improper, and it’s highly likely that they would have been promised to each other anyways seeing as they are both youth of two noble households.
